This week's Service Spotlight highlights Lesli Smith, Payroll & Accounts Receivable for the City of Glenpool.
A typical day for Lesli is filled with compiling and computing data related to everything from employee time and payroll to compliance with financial policies and regulations. She enjoys the opportunities to learn new skills on the job and work with other city employees. "It affords me the opportunity to work on interesting projects, collaborating with a talented
team,” says Lesli.
Her supervisor, Sarah Cage, the city comptroller, says Lesli is a wonderful employee who does an incredible job. "Payroll for the entire city is a very daunting task, and Lesli handles it so well. We can all rely on her to get the job done!"
Lesli says she loves the versatility of her job and has no plans to move away any time soon. "At the City of Glenpool, I can see myself growing professionally in this position – and beyond – while being able to live and enjoy this amazing community." Her favorite thing about Glenpool is that, even as it continues to grow, the city still feels small and maintains that hometown pride.
Sarah feels Lesli is a true asset to the city because she shares that pride for Glenpool. "Lesli always ensures that her job is performed with Glenpool in mind,” says Sarah. "She is a member of the community, and I believe this strong connection is what makes Lesli such a great employee for the city."
When she's not at work crunching numbers and engaging with all the other city departments, Lesli likes to spend time with family, attend events at Glenpool Schools, read, thrift, and cook.
