Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement division is tasked with promoting a safe and blight-free community.  This is achieved by enforcing the city’s Municipal Codes, Zoning Code, International Property Maintenance Code, as well as applicable State regulations. 

Issues regularly addressed by Code Enforcement are typically public nuisances and miscellaneous code violations and typically include the following items.

  • Inoperable or abandoned vehicles stored on private property.
  • Trash or debris on private property.
  • Excessively high grass on private property.
  • Illegal vehicle parking on private property.
  • Visual impairments caused by trees, shrubs, vehicles, etc. interfering with traffic flow.
  • Enforcement of Health and Safety Code violations.
  • Illegally placed signs.
